2009 Riesling: Our Riesling grapes are selected from cool climate vineyards across Victoria giving a lovely floral perfumed wine. With the green apple and citrus characters, it is a refreshing drink when young and will develop for many years in the bottle. It marries well with all seafood particularly grilled baby octopus. Drink now or put down till 2015.
2009 Viognier: The 2009 Viognier is a complex wine with layers of peach, pear and apricot flavours. The fruit driven freshness is balanced by crisp acidity. The complexity and texture of this wine lends itself to many food styles from white fish such as Murray Cod to an antipasto platter. Drink in the short to medium term.
2008 Marsanne: Our 2008 Marsanne displays characters of honeysuckle, tropical fruits and pear. Partial barrel fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels produces the rich creamy palate with hints of nougat and macadamia nut. These flavours are balanced by lively acidity. Try with creamy pastas and mature soft cheeses. Drink now till 2013.
2008 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre: These three varieties of are timeless companions, having been grown and made together for centuries. Our 2008 GSM is a vibrant medium bodied red. Sweet red berry fruits and earthy savoury characters are supported by lovely supple tannins. This wine is great with veal saltimbocca, BBQ spare-ribs and pizza. Drink now till 2011.
2007 The Ranga: At Valhalla we have more than our fair share of redheads and in celebration and honour of our Rangas w have produced a classic Rutherglen red. Shiraz and Durif are the most celebrated red grape varieties from this region. They combine superbly to produce a full bodied wine with berry fruits and spice characters that is rich, ripe and ready. For lovers of redheads, or just red wine!
2006 Shiraz: Valhalla’s 2006 Shiraz shows a bouquet of rich dark cherry, plum and white pepper . These flavours follow through to the palate with dark chocolate and cigar box complexity. The beautifully balanced long finish shows concentrated fruit, subtle oak and fine grainy tannins. Enjoy with Italian style roast lamb or Hungarian goulash. Drink now till 2013.
2008 Shiraz Viognier: This elegant wine shows wild berries and anise on the nose. There are layers of fragrant plums and white pepper freshness on the palate. Shiraz and Viognier grape are co-fermented to produce this rich full red. Drink now till 2012.
2007 Durif: Our first Durif shows classic characteristics of dark berry fruits, black pepper and earthy tones. The fine chewy tannins and intense fruit make this a wine you can enjoy young but will love when mature. Drink now to 2019.
2006 Sparkling Shiraz: The 2006 Sparkling Shiraz is made using methode champenoise. The gives the wine a creamy mousse and a rich generous palate, supporting blackberry and forest fruit flavours. Our Sparkling Shiraz is made for drinking well chilled, over summer with friends. (Wine Club members only- Sold out)
